About
‘Eyas blogs’ is maintained by Eyas Sharaiha, a Jordanian university student at MIT. Born and raised in Amman, Eyas has had the chance of acquiring and developing a sharp interest and a sense of activism in serious matters of the world. Eyas is drawn to Middle East politics and is passionate about establishing a just peace that ends the Arab-Israeli conflict; such views were validated by eye-opening experiences, which continue to this day to inspire that the most human sensation of fraternity remains despite the most dire of conflicts and tensions.
In love with my country, humbled by the warmth of its people, yet proud of my identity and heritage, I’m determined to clear misconceptions about my region, its conflicts, and its society. I shall strive while writing, to paint a picture of Jordan and the Middle East as I see it and experience it, and will do my best to reflect the beauty, warmth, and glory of my misunderstood home. Perhaps from reading this you will see a quarter of what I see, and sense a tenth of what I sense.
I’m studying Computer Science & Engineering at MIT, I love horseback riding, and I absolutely love writing in Arabic. I love to crack jokes, cannot live without my friends, and absolutely in awe of my family.
